My Indy Adventure, Part III: Indiana Jones and the Search for the Comfy T

The fifth movie in the Indiana Jones series – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – fast approaches, and therefore, I continue on my own Indiana Jones adventure.

The first entry in “My Indy Adventure” was a visit to Den of Destiny pop-up bar in Hollywood Studios to sample some Indiana Jones libations. And in the second entry, I ventured into the world of Indiana Jones Hawaiian-style shirts.

Now, I stay on the wardrobe track. Let’s call this “Indiana Jones and the Search for the Comfy T.”

Why does this adventure matter? I not only have had a home office since 1991 (wow!), but I recently moved to Central Florida – not far from Walt Disney World. That combination of working from home and year-round summer weather means that the t-shirt ranks as an integral part of my wardrobe options. Long ago, except when traveling for work, I tossed aside the shirt-and-tie in favor of more casual shirts and, of course, shorts.

And since I’m a big Indy fan, the search for new and comfortable t-shirts seemed inevitable, like someone dialed up my destiny (see what I did there – even though I don’t know if it makes any sense without seeing the new film?).

Interestingly, I found four t-shirts at Amazon.com that tied directly into the new movie, and one that was a general Indy shirt.

Naturally, the Dial of Destiny-related shirts will be fully assessed once I see the movie, but for now, I love these T’s.

One, of course, offers the title of the film in classic Indiana Jones style.

Two others rate as great mixes. There’s a weathered-looking shirt with a classic Indiana Jones figure, whip in action, the “It ain’t the years, it’s the mileage” saying, and the years spanned from the first movie to this last one. And another presents the iconic Indy hat and whip, with the year this last film mainly takes place in (I think), and the places across the map that are visited. There’s something about that shirt that particularly grabs me – perhaps the gray-white-and-black combination.

And then there is an Indy shirt with a plane-centered logo that wonderfully captures all of the films. I chose the light blue option on this, and it looks great.

Finally, over at Homage.com, a fun shirt offers a version of Indy’s hat, and the saying “It’s not the years, honey, it’s the mileage.”

Homage makes incredibly soft, comfortable shirts. So, that was expected with the Indy Homage t-shirt. But the shirts purchased at Amazon.com also are quite comfortable, roomy, and a high quality that should hold up to many washings.

Indeed, my search for the comfy Indiana Jones t-shirt has been successful.
