The fifth movie in the Indiana Jones series – Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny – is nearly here. As a longtime Indy fan, I’ve decided that it’s time to intensify my already-intense level of interest and appreciation of all things Indiana Jones. Why not kickoff my own Indiana Jones adventure leading up the movie’s release on June 30? (All photos by Jonathan Keating.)

First on the list? A drink, or more than one. So, I visited the new Den of Destiny pop-up bar. It opened just a few days ago, on June 9, and is located right next to the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular experience at Hollywood Studios. It will be open until August 15.

The décor is spot on, featuring assorted movie memorabilia, along with a Dial of Destiny photo-op area and displays of some new merch (FYI – Indy merch will be featured in upcoming adventure pieces at DisneyBizJournal).

What about the drinks?

The Weathered Fedora ($14.50) features Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth, Vanilla, Hella Cocktail Co., Cinnamon, Star Anise, Ginger Bitters and Nutmeg. It’s served over an ice sphere. The Fedora combines a strong alcohol taste, with a bold cinnamon flavor. My adventure companion for the day pointed out that this would make a good Christmas drink, and could even be served warm.

As for the Adventuress Margarita, it mixes Corazon Blanco Tequila, Passion Fruit Papaya Green Tea, Cucumber, Lime Juice and Agave Nectar. This makes for an exquisite summer sipping drink. It’s smooth, citrusy, and the tequila kicks in nicely. The accompanying orange slice also provides a nice aroma.

Finally, there is the non-alcoholic L’Atlantique Green Tea, which is a refreshing mix of Pomegranate Green Tea, Blood Orange, Lemon Juice and Agave Nectar. It was a very hot Florida day when we arrived at the Den of Destiny, so this provided some welcome relief.

The Den of Destiny, indeed, was a fun, first stop on my Indy adventure.
