Sweet! November 4th is National Candy Day!

It’s National Candy Day. Who knew such a thing existed, right?  If you’re going to celebrate such a momentous occasion, Disney World is certainly the place to do it.

While there is a plethora of sugary treats at every resort’s gift shop (yup, we’ve taken more than a few home with us when frantically using up those unspent dining plan credits before climbing aboard the Magical Express), Disney excels at the Instagrammable and coma-inducing beauties.  Think candy-topped donuts piled on top of decadent shakes.  

Maybe you’re more impressed by the talented cotton candy artisans at the China pavilion during the festivals.  They are amazing to watch as they spin enormous layered flowers out of wisps of sugar.

Ghiradelli Chocolate and The Ganachery at Disney Springs specialize in house-made delights. Candy apple creations coated in your favorite movie themes abound all over the park. (Big Top Souvenirs at Storybook Circus comes to mind.) Tons of seasonal and specialty cupcakes pop-up frequently, topped with all manner of candy deliciousness.

Peter Pan’s chocolate feather adorns a Lime Dole Whip float, while an actual Mickey-shaped sugar cube graces the cotton candy soft serve on the Arendelle Aqua Cone at Storybook Treats. If you were partial to the Peter Pan float, perhaps you’d also enjoy Redd’s Revenge, the strawberry Dole Whip float with a red candy pirate hat perched jauntily on top.

Candy Cauldron in Disney Springs will give you quite the sugar fix as well. Heck, you can even learn to make your own candy sushi at the Epcot Food and Wine Festival.  Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party is over for this year, but you can come back next year to gather up bags and bags of your favorites at the trick-or-treat trails before watching the Sugar Rush float in the Boo To You Parade.

Perhaps one of the most entertaining ways to get your candy fix, though, is at Goofy’s Candy Co., where you can craft your own treats. Pick up an order form, choose your favorite toppings from the available selections, and watch as a cheerful cast member whips up your creation right in front of your eyes. Chocolate drizzles on your Krispie treat anyone?
