The Disney Meetings
Blog recently noted
a construction milestone for the expansion of Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort
at Walt Disney World Resort. Before being lifted atop the new 15-story hotel, a
support beam was signed by various Disney cast members and imagineers.

The Coronado
Springs expansion is largely directed toward expanding meeting and event options
at Walt Disney World.
As noted on the
blog:
“...we are
providing meeting planners and event organizers with even more resources to
deliver on their goals. The expansion of the convention hotel will offer new
dining venues, accommodations, indoor meeting spaces, and outdoor networking
spaces, designed purposefully for groups.
“A premiere
feature of this expansion is the new 15-story tower that offers breathtaking
views of the shimmering Lago Dorado waters. These lakeside vistas are the
perfect complement to over 500 Guest rooms and suites debuting at this Disney
convention hotel. A new rooftop restaurant and lounge situated at the top of
the tower boasts panoramic views. The expansion will also add a boardroom and
multi-purpose rooms to the current 220,000 square feet of dedicated space for
meetings and functions at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort.”
Sounds cool!
DisneyBizJournal.com
will serve up some firsthand updates as to what’s going on at Coronado early
next month.
